Life is made of choices which give us knowledge. Every time you choose one thing means you are abdicating something else. I truly believe one has to be aware of the two sides, so they can pick the one that better represent them and with which they identify most. At the end, people will be richer than before; they will become wiser and will develop an extra aptitude to feel things (or not)!

For everything in life exist its opposite and the “dark” side is, most of the times, which makes us see the real things; what really matters. Without this contrast, happiness wouldn’t exist; it couldn’t. It would be impossible. If you never cried, you could never know how good it feels to smile. If you were never sick, you wouldn’t valorize your health. If the hunger didn’t exist, all the delicious food would be insipid. The work teaches us how holidays are priceless. Sadness makes us see joy, sometimes in the smallest details.  After a busy and exhausting day, we have the night to rest and restore our energy to the next day. Rain presents us beautiful rainbows, followed by the sun again. The noise makes us realize how precious the silence is. We could never appreciate anyone’s presence if they were never absent. The efforts we make, all the struggles we deal with, they give us an inestimable taste of victory!

It’s all about choices. The ability to choose depends on freedom; if you are not free, the capacity of choice will be affected; yet, if you are, it doesn’t mean you will choose wisely! Mostly, choices are the way how we react to things. Whatever you choose, it will have consequences; choosing nothing, it’s a choice too, with its own consequences! The fact is that we need the two opposites; light/dark, good/evil, bad things/good things... they are essential. A scale needs two weights so it can be in equilibrium, just like life. The lowest things give us depth, as if they were roots holding our feet to the ground. By other hand, the highest things give us strength to keep going; they feed our dreams and maintain our hopes. Everything is working in a perfect balance. If the opposites didn’t exist, life would be monotone; there would be no surprises, everything would remain the same, forever!

And yes, sometimes we have to lose to be more grateful; to become humble; to put us back on the trail. Perhaps to make us fulfil our destiny...

The harder the fight, the higher it will be your feeling of fulfilment. And that does not happen by chance; it is life telling you what is important and what it isn't. Life is just showing you the two sides: you can’t stay in both! You may walk through one and then through the other; the knowledge of both is allowed, but it’s forbidden to follow both. At the end you always have to choose!
