Christmas has something of magical; that's the time of the year I like most. The cold weather in contrast with the warmth of love, family and hope, it’s the perfect match. Most people are more humane and it seems that everybody has a heart! People are more sensitive, more emotional, they act as human beings. At this time of the year I usually see great movies, with great stories and happy endings. Will share with you a real history that even if you think it's nothing to do with Christmas, it has everything to do with love. And Christmas is all about love!

A long, long time ago, there was a couple that were very, very happy. They were blessed with one child and were living in a very big beautiful house. Their business allowed them to have everything which money can buy. One day, they were forced to leave. The country where they were living passed for some transformations and it could no longer accept them. Everything was left behind; the house, the goods, the business, everything. Yet, they had the most important: their family, hope and faith!
After their arrival in the new country, they rented a small house and started a small business. They had to start all over from the beginning, again. Happily, the business was better with each passing day, which gave them the opportunity to build their own house. Life was being generous with them, so they were blessed with one more child. So now, they were very well financially and had a place to call home. Their hearts were fulfilled, what could they have more?
In the meantime, their oldest child was a teenager and he got involved with the wrong people. Then, unfortunately, his father passed away. The woman was now alone with an innocent little kid and a teenager who was utterly attending the wrong places. After a family meeting, they all agreed that the oldest son should run the business. They all said that it would be positive for him, because it would get him away of the bad habits he had.
After two years everything was ruined. Now, the woman was alone with the youngest kid (which must be 6 years old by now) without any money, business or house. Without any other solution, she started to work carrying bricks, cement and all that was needed for the construction of houses.
The youngest kid went to school and after a few years he got his degree and started to work in a respectful place and in the highest position. After this, he took off his mother of her heavy work and she never went to work again. Her son was so grateful to her, that she never needed to work anymore. This son never went through bad paths, unlike his brother. It might have happened because he saw the humble condition of his mother and all the sacrifices she had to do to raise and educate him. A few years after he got married to a beautiful woman (in every possible way) and they were blessed with three children. This family never met misfortune again.
It's common to hear that good times come after bad times. Happily, for this family was like this. That woman, aside of her worries with the oldest son, she lived a very peaceful and happy life, in the company of her family. For her, family was everything. She was a very tender person and her heart was full of love. She's no longer among us, yet she died happy and in peace. She lived her life the best way she could! "Be gentle, be polite, respect elders and never let you in into bad circles”, were her teachings and the best advice anyone could give to someone.

This Christmas I make her words mine. Please be gentle, polite and respect everybody! And I really hope you can only find people like you are.
