I was thinking a lot in these last days, more than I usually do. Why people behave as they do, is the question I have been asking ... especially about me.  Except our past and our experiences, what made us be the way we are? Is there a force that determines our personality or what? You see, there are things I can’t do; mostly what I consider wrong, like lies, for instance. I can't lie, can you believe that? So, there must be an invisible force or something that is managing all this... and I know how this may sound stupid and crazy!

On my search to find the answers, I have found some information regarding to my zodiac sign that describes a good part of what I am. I don't believe blindly, however, this was the best answer to respond my question. The other two are destiny and past lives. The palms of our hands also reveal a lot about ourselves, but the information we get from them is totally different. Do you want an example? My lines were saying that I would be divorced, but I never believed that. After all, it's normal to have lines on our palms... but if you look at my Zodiac sign, you'll see that I am a person that lives for my family. Paradox or not, I find a lot of curiosity about things that can say more about us, even if they seem absurd or pathetic. It's called the benefit of the doubt (or something similar).

So, I think the day and time we were born says a lot about ourselves, speaking in the language of the stars. I will share some things I found about my zodiac sign, nevertheless I know that we can't speak in a general way, because I met two people who were cancer, just like me, and the descriptions of this zodiac sign don't apply to them. However, the experts say we can develop the positive or the negative characteristics, according to the choices we make.

So, let´s begin:

Cancers are good at remembering the little details. You will not believe me, but people always say this to me. I remember things that have no meaning to most of the people... 

Their overprotective nature is triggered by simply wanting the best for the people they truly love. So let them love you. True. So me...

How to comfort this sign: give them chocolate and a shoulder to lean on. Coincidence or not, I really like chocolate: simple and dark. Sometimes, I even do it at home. I won’t even comment the shoulder part; after all, who does not like to have a shoulder to lean on, huh?!

Cancers are amazing writers. Because of their hard shell, they are better at written word than spoken. I always say I speak a lot (with the ones I feel comfortable with), yet I express myself better through written. I have been like this since my 13 years old.

As a cancer you always tell yourself that you will keep your distance, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Yeah, I repeat to myself over and over again and I always end up not keeping the distance.

It’s hard for them to fake interest, in their heart is not into it. I am not good at pretending. Once, a teacher asked me to pretend to be another person... just imagine how bad that was... can you?! It was terrible!

Cancer signs don’t easily make many friends because they only go for depth, not superficial chit chat. It's my picture and despite of the paradox, I don’t have many friends, but everybody feels at peace in my company. It’s strange, right?

Cancer will always worry, no matter how times you tell them that you’re okay. Yeah... probably now some of you are laughing. How many times I ask you this?! It’s not my fault, I suppose it’s because I am a cancer

As a cancer, your first instinct about someone is always right. Well, I always give the benefit of the doubt and then they screw up my life.

Cancers are good at teaching people what unconditional love is. So, have you learnt already?

When a cancer says “I love you”, they usually mean it, because they don’t say anything they don’t mean. Yeah, true again...

A cancer’s expression of sadness: isolation from everyone. Guilty!

Cancer is not interested in light flirtation. They are either in love or want to be serious about getting in love. No kid play. Guilty again!

Their worst enemy: their sensitivity. Yeah, I wish I could be less sensitive.

Cancer protects them by staying at home. True again. I feel safe at home, it’s just a different world there... my world!

Cancer is all about love, love and love. Oh and honesty. True and scary!

Cancers are very honest, they will always tell you the truth starting on day one. Even scarier than the other one!

A cancer is always there for people, but when they need someone around, people always disappear. This was funny and real too!

Cancer loves the attention of their loved ones... but hates being the centre of attention in other matters. Yeah, it’s my picture. I hate to be the centre of attention; I like to be invisible...

Because cancer feels insecure, any rejection or hurtful words hit them 10X harder than other signs. I don’t know how other signs feel things, but I know that I am insecure and that words affect me positive or negatively (more than they affect others)...

Cancers are children at heart and they can get excited about even the smallest things in life. True.

Cancers expect too much from people and often end up disappointed because they fail to realize not everyone is as genuine as they are. Yes, I always expect the best of people... then I end up like shit!

Cancer has an emotional, sensitive, inward looking personality. But they can still punch you in the face. 

As a cancer, you’re always there to help people with their problems, but when it comes to your problems you prefer to keep them private. I was reserved all my life. I never spoke about myself. In 2014, I saw that I was too closed, so I decided to be more open, to trust people. I guess I am turning to my old me... people don’t care about anyone, why they would care about me? Yet, I am always ready to listen to you and help if you need.

Cancer is the only sign ruled by the moon - the celestial indicator of feelings and intuition, so their emotions, empathy, sensitivities and “sixth sense” about others can be very strong. I didn’t know that my sign was the only one ruled by the moon. Always learning... 

As if it wasn’t enough, I searched for the confirmation of what I wrote above. And it was very interesting... I found a lot of similarities! So, I think that I have most of the characteristics of a cancer. I wish I could just change my sign...

Cancerians are very defensive creatures – defensive of themselves, their friends and family. They have a very strong and formidable defensive fort in his psyche. He is not intimidated that easily and can sometimes take an aggressive stand in order to protect himself emotionally from transgresses of others. Anyone who intentionally or unintentionally jeopardizes their or their close ones’ dignity or self-respect, you will feel fended off or even pinned down. But if you persevere and gain their trust with time (which you most definitely will if your intensions are honest), you will see the soft, caring and considerate inner self – because now you are one of the protected.

Their family is very important for them, and comes at the top in the list of priorities. They make excellent parents, but are not so good at letting go of their children when the situation requires it which again tells us about their protective self. They also happen to be very emotional and often fall into the depths of nostalgia. No wonder they have an excellent memory – they hardly miss a piece of detail about their past. Cancerian children start out being extremely sensitive and emotionally fragile, but with time they develop their protective and affectionate self. So if you see your Cancerian kid taking care of a younger brother or sister or the family pet, be sure that your kid is growing up.

To their loved ones, Cancerians present their most soft and mellow self. So they may overreact to incidents and tend to be very moody at times. But they are very sensual and can be the best of companions. They can get hurt by their companions very easily, but are in no way weak. They can strike back with equal force and venom.
