Right now, millions of people are thinking about what they will buy to offer to that special person they have beside them. The offer is vast; sweets, jewels, clothes, perfumes, cosmetics, books, flowers, a special dinner, among so many others. I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t decide yet.  There are two types of wise; the ones who see things as they are through the eyes of innocence and the ones who learnt from theirs and others’ mistakes. Children are the first type! They always know what the best is; they always pick right. If you ask a kid to tell you the best present to offer on Valentine’s Day, they will probably answer Love. But you can’t put love in a box, can you? After all, what is love? I will share another story. I always have hope in people, even when I know there is no hope. I believe that when we use strong arguments, when we present facts to sustain our statements, we’ll captivate people’s attention. Stories give us all that and make us think about a thousand things. That’s all I want from you: I want you to reflect; I want you to absorb every word and, then, get your own conclusion. So, let’s go to the story!

Love in the heart

In a classroom, a child asks the teacher:

"Teacher, what is love?"

The teacher felt that the child needed an intelligent answer, just as the question he did. As it was almost break time, she asked each student to bring from outside what awakened more in them the feeling of Love. The children went rushing and when they returned the teacher said:

"Now show me what you brought."

The first child said, "I brought a beautiful flower, isn’t it beautiful?"

The second child said: "I brought this baby bird. It had fallen from the nest along with another brother. Isn’t it cute? "

And so, they continued showing what they have brought. At the end, the teacher noticed a child who had been quiet all the time. He was ashamed because he hadn't brought anything. The teacher turned to him and asked:

"Dear, why haven't you brought anything?"

And the child shyly replied, "Sorry teacher. I saw the flower and felt its perfume. Thought about cutting it, but preferred to leave it, so its perfume could last longer. I saw a colourful butterfly! It seemed so happy that I didn't dare to imprison it. I also saw the bird fallen among the leaves, but when I was climbing the tree noticed the sad look of its mother and preferred to return it to the nest. Therefore, I bring with me the flower’s perfume, the feeling of the butterfly’s freedom and the gratitude I felt in the mother's eyes. How can I show what I brought?"

The teacher gave him full marks because he was the only one who realized that we can only bring love in the heart. We don’t need to destroy anything to appreciate and value them!
